HealthFlux is a mobile app created for Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) to ease their workload prior to and during the visits to the sites that they manage.

The Problem
Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) are often traveling between clinical trial sites and need to manage their schedules, logistics, time tracking, and expenses efficiently. Our client initially wanted to create a mobile tool with features to support CRAs, but the exact needs weren’t fully clear yet.
The Solution
Originally, the concept was to use a chatbot for a few select features. But after aligning with both user needs and client goals, we pivoted to make an AI chatbot the central interaction model. This allowed CRAs to quickly accomplish tasks in a conversational, intuitive way, without navigating complex UI flows.
Research & Discovery
We conducted stakeholder interviews and usability research with active CRAs. We learned:
CRAs spend a lot of time scheduling site visits and travel
Many are juggling manual processes for recording time and filing expenses.
Reflections
This project was a great example of letting user research lead the product direction. Instead of tacking on AI as a feature, we let it become the foundation where it made the most sense—because that’s what users needed.
